Just think about this for a second.
What if you were given 10 houses and the instructions were to give one away
and then more blessings would come to you?
That ...seems kind of …almost TOO easy.
Give one away!
If your employer gave you 10 cars
and the Employee Handbook told you to give the first one he or she gave you away
I have a feeling you'd do it
and probably, happily.
If a store-owner gave you 10 plates of your favorite food,
could you give one away?
What about 10 boxes of supplies for your favorite hobby?
Couldn't you gladly give the first one given to you away?
How much smaller is ONE dollar than any of these?
The value we place on this stuff is scary and eye-opening and when you think about it like this it's kind of enlightening. I hear a lot of people talk about “value.” I was praying about tithing and all this was laid on my heart.
So WHY THEN do you (and I) stop the blessings that will come by holding onto that ONE dollar?
That ONE DOLLAR is stealing blessings.
Blessings are surely worth more than one dollar.
People buy one cup of coffee for much more.
Money isn't inherently good or bad.
And some people,
craving money,
have wandered from the true faith
and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
1 Timothy 6:10
(Pierced themselves? It's insanity of our own choice.)
Of course you can expect heavy artillery in spiritual warfare because
The thing is – you're going to face spiritual warfare regardless.
WHY would you choose to give up blessings that rightfully belong to you?
Your Father Who ADORES you says they're for you.
And He tells you how to receive them.
I mean, if you were told (by a credible source) that you are entitled to receive a 3 day vacation
and THIS is how to claim these awards:
Go to this city.
Talk to the person at the desk.
Claim your tickets.
Go for the 3 days.
How simple is that?
We ARE told how to receive some blessings that our Heavenly Father has just for us.
But we (millions of us) still don't claim them.
Why do we steal from ourselves? What a silly thing to do.
The more I pray and think about these things, the more simple it seems to me.
I'm tired of not claiming my own blessings that my own Daddy says are mine.
And I know. I hear people's complaints about it being “their” money.
"But, wait," you say, "I EARNED that money!"
Well, yes... kind of...
Before you tell me that you did the work and what you deserve, think about one thing...
The incredible amazing Truth is you could not have earned that money without God's generous GIFT of your lungs to breathe and the gift of the very air, itself.
Tell me again who gets the glory or credit for you to even be able to have a job in the first place?
I'm not going to argue with anyone about what is a Commandment or Old or New.
It's as simple as this: God so loved us that He gave. We are made in His image so we give.
What a Genius Design, actually!
You holding onto THAT ONE DOLLAR is stealing so many blessings
frommmm - YOU.
NOBODY can choose this for you OR take the choice away from you.
Anything stopped up (pipe, conduit, vessel, etc.)
starts to stink and with a stench that makes people feel like vomiting.
Beautiful You, aren't you tired?
Is your way working?
Do you have peace?
Aren't you tired of going in circles?
Pray for how God wants you to give – and then – give.
"Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom:
She and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease,
but did not aid the poor and needy."
Ezekiel 16:49
Check out Malachi 3:6b-10. God talks about withholding tithes.
"Return to Me, and I will return to you," says the Lord Almighty.
"But you ask, 'How are we to return?'"
"Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob Me."
"But you ask, 'How are we robbing You?'"
"In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse - your whole nation - BECAUSE you are robbing Me.
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."
Your Father has more blessings for you than you can even hold.
What if it's True?
Can you really afford not to find out?
Kerri Valor and her daughters are currently waiting in faith
in Northwest Washington
for God to open doors to Alaska.
Once there,
they'll be working towards the development of a homeless shelter
for domestic abuse and sex-trafficked survivors.
They welcome your prayers,
as well as financial partnership,
to bring to fruition the shelter God has pressed upon their hearts to create:
