Each summer, Juneau, Alaska, is flooded with tourists from all walks of life and from around the world. When tourist season arrives downtown Juneau comes alive. Seasonal businesses reopen and, as locals, we all say, "Hallelujah!" (Okay, not all of us, 'cause Alaskans are independent, strong of will and character, filled with ingenuity, and value privacy; but, many of us do rejoice because some of the seasonal offerings come in the form of food not otherwise served up, offered, or found here during the rest of the year.)
A fan favorite?
The Twisted Fish Company.Not all seasonal businesses are created equal. Some are open to take your money and run while others truly care. The Twisted Fish Company values its customer service, appearance, and customer's food experience. Not only that but you get the bang for your buck! Generous proportions that are worth every penny? Yes, more of that please!
I've officially been twice,
once last year:
And, once this year;
Have you ever tried Ahi Tuna?
If not, I highly recommend it.
My first experience of Ahi Tuna took place within
The Chart House Restaurant at the top of the
Tower of the Americas in San Antonio, Texas and it was love at first bite! The Ahi Tuna at the Twisted Fish is different in presentation and texture; but, the taste remains the same: Off the charts, "Yum!"
What else sets food apart? The company you keep.
Cruise ships tend to dock for just a day at a time in Juneau's port of entry;
a handful of hours, spent with family who have cruised in from far off places?
Priceless.
