Happiness may be fleeting; but, joy?
Joy can be found within regardless of circumstance.
Joy is a byproduct of hope and hope a byproduct of faith;
we don't have to see to believe.
Like the peace God brings,
that passes all understanding,
so it is with joy.
We can be sleep-deprived, beyond measure;
weary, under the load we carry;
we can focus on all that's wrong
OR
allow the joy to seep in among the cracks;
there's always room for joy!
Joy is in a baby's coo, first smiles and laughter;
joy is in the songs your kindergartner sings over and over again;
there's even joy within monotony!
Wait, what!?!
Come again?
There's even joy within monotony;
the certainty of a routine has its perks!
Joy is a mindset.
It's a choice to wear those rose colored glasses
and to focus on what's good, noble and true.
The source? Why, that's easy!
It all comes from The Joy Maker, Himself, God the Father,
His only begotten Son and the Holy Spirit;
three-in-one.
Within the mystery of such holiness
there's also
joy.
Faith, hope, love, joy, peace - may your life be abundantly full with these.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
