Time to Pause

When it rains,

it pours.

My shower broke,
water spraying everywhere;
shampoo in my hair,

I let the shower run longer than it should.

I'm more sick than I've been in quite some time.

My mother died.

The above has been the recent life of my friend, Wanda.
And yet, in the midst of it all, a mutual friend of ours
called her to rise above with a simple word:

Pause.

Pause.

Called to stop for a moment,
to take a step back;
allow yourself moments where you stop,
look around,
and do your best to take in the bigger picture.

Wanda's faith keeps her strong in the midst of heartache, pain and trails;
the Body of Christ,
rising up,
brings a timely word, comfort and peace.

You are lifted higher,
and you rise once more,
when you are able to smile through tears;
rain only lasts for a season.

"Though I fall, I will rise again" (Micah 7:8).

"Weeping may tarry through the night, but joy comes in the morning" (Psalm 30:5b).

Take time to pause.
